Just bought a 400. Seemed to run well, sheet metal far, all new tires, fasthitch converted to 3pt. Steers easy but has some slop (forward & backwards) in the steering wheel. Shifted OK, no sound from the tranny. The person said the TA worked but I know nothing about them so took his word. Also. the clutch pedal has side slop and some one welded a bolt to hold it upright and in the correct postion(been there for a while from the looks of the wear on the clutch pedal). Has three levers to the right of the steering wheel, I assume to raise and lower the hitch along with one to tilt the implement (3rd?). Forgot to get the serial # but the owner believes that it is a `54. Also came with a 5ft bush hog. Narrow front. Only ran it for about a 1/2 hour but did not seem to leak anything really bad (not sure I trust a tractor that does not leak some). Owner said the carb leaks some gas from the bottom. I paid $2100.00--In your opinion, was that a fair price?
