Farmall M gets hot

I have an M that gets hot for no apparent reason. I removed the radiator, had it flushed by a shop, installed a fan shroud, checked the tightness of the fan belt, (fan turns fine, and it's full of coolant). Some M's had thermostats right? Could that be the problem? Could the water pump be not pumping without showing any obvious signs of that?
