I,m looking at a 966 diesel, looks pretty good, has a decent cab with a/c and a JD 158 front loader. everything seems ok, only how do you know if it is an oil burner. It's been through an auction so the previous owner is unkown. The last tractor I bought burns oil and it doesn't look like it is, but it will burn a gallon a day working hard, exhaust is clean, very little smoke and no leaks. Thats why I'm asking is there a good way to know if it's an oil burner? Thanks.
