The 'ol Farmall engineers had the carburetor sized pretty good on the standard M's. They get good power and economy. If you increase the engine size with oversize pistons and/or longer stroke crankshafts, then monkeying with the venturii and/or jets might be justified and kits are available for this purpose. Even higher rpm of a reasonable nature can be had without changing the carburetor capacity, the airflow velocity will increase and you can adjust the high speed/power jet to increase fuel flow. One will enable the other, sort of, more fuel gives more rpm potential(if you don't get too rich)and more rpm increases velocity of the air flow which usually calls for slightly richer mixture. Generally speaking, a little more performance usually costs noticeably in everyday fuel useage and often shortens the life of the engine and driveline components, that's why tractor engines are of "mild tune"-usually. And if they aren't, they are usually short lifed and rough on fuel. It takes a little different engine tuning to pull 3-14's all day, day after day, than to win the 6500 lb. class at the friendly neighborhood antique tractor show.
