I split my C in front of the transmission a few months back to fix transmission oil leaks at seals and gaskets. You need to support the front part really good, make sure it can't go side to side. I found the rear part to be nearly balanced, so a light duty hoist will hold that up. After your get all the stuff off, (steering supports, battery, seat clutch linkage and so on) and have both halves supported, take the 4 bolts out that hold the transmission to the torque tubes. I took mine out one at a time and replaced with longer bolts to help with support. Also good to have those longer bolts to line things up going back together. When you spit, roll back the rear and the main drive shaft will slide out of the clutch. The main drive shaft coupling that has 4 bolts, two connected to the yoke on the drive shaft and two connected to the yoke on the transmission input, will be exposed and you can take the bolts loose and disconnect the shaft. Make sure your clutch remains engaged the entire time you have it split so that the clutch plate will be lined up so you can slide the drive shaft back in. For me, it turned out to be easier than I expected. If you have more questions, let me know.
