Maybe but the sure fire cure is to take it out and work it as in plowing or discing. Getting it warm (hot) enough to burn the carbon out of it. Carbon sets in when the tractors are only started and run for short periods of time and shut off before all the moisture is dried out of the engine. It has been said that the octane of leaded regular gas when these tractors were new was significantly less than what you buy today. I install stelite valve seats in all my restored tractors and burn the unleaded stuff that's 87 octane with no knocking problems.//FB
