see the post above bill, if you have drained the transmission of 15 gallons there shouldn't be much left except what might reside in low points. I'm told that IH does not have the couplers anymore, According the the guy I got my solid coupler from a lot were changed over. Disconnect coupler was made so you could uncouple it when not using the pto so the sun gears in the back didn't sit and spin when the brake is on. Recommendation I got was to either leave pto engaged or at least not set brake on it except when actually using the pto. Anyway the coupler has a roll pin in the front part, you split the tractor then drive the roll pin out, remove old coupler, install new coupler with roll pin and reconnect unit. Simple huh?? You gotta split it between transmission and ta unit. Easiest way is to remove gas tank, belt drive unit and everything else in the way. If you get some long 5/8 inch bolts you can use them as line up dowels when you separate tractor parts and keep things lined up. Only have to separate it by about 6 inches to do the job.
