our 400 sat for about 10 years. It absolutely refused to start, until we pull started it. It fired right up when we pulled it, and it has run like a charm ever since. So my guess is, if you can get it pulled or use ether to start it, then you can run it a bit and get things limbered up again. One time it got rained on too, and then would not start until pulled, but it has gotten better about that too - it starts right up every time without any choke whatsoever.
