240 float

I have a 1958 240 Farmall and the float in the carb is sticking and i cant get it to get right, I will brush hog with it and about 15 min. later it will die then i will clean the sediment bowl and tap on the carb. and it will run for mabye 5 min. at the most. Most of the time it will start run for about 15 sec. then die. Any info. will be apprieciated.
