ok here we go take all the plugs out now turn it over with finger in #1 and on compression look in the hole to see that the piston is at the top the timing mark on the flywheel should be at the mark it will say TDC now take of the cap and see if the rotor is lined up with #1 wire if you have a mag it will snap at TDC now place the wires correct in order you have to be ok then as you have lined everything up correct #1 is marked on the cap must have your timing off someplace you can double check the other cycls also have you had the front cover and moved the cam or the gear that drives the mag or dist anywhen #1 is tdc the valves will be closed and there will be the 14thous clearence easier to have all plugs out as the engine will turn over easy and after a few revs you will have the compression figured out to the TEE good luck glad to help gene b
