When I was small my dad would let me ride on a C Farmall with him. I thought I was on top of the world on what I thought at the time was a "big" red tractor. I still remember looking out across the hood while sitting on his lap, listening to the whine of the transmission as it worked. A couple years ago dad passed on, and I was discussing with my wife that I guess I would have to sell the old Farmall C sitting out by the barn. I decided I had better see if I could get it running to increase the odds of getting something for it. Glad I made that decision, as when I heard that familiar sound selling was no longer an option. It is not a pretty tractor, but I have it running like a swiss watch, and enjoy just taking a ride, or working it when I get the chance. I plan on repainting it, but plan to keep it a "working" tractor to maximize the pleasure of owning it. I had (and may still have) some of the best times of my life on that old tractor.
