IH -- What model is it??

Posted by Mark Bryan on May 28, 2002 at 06:57:27 from (164.58.250.195):

How can I find which model an International Harvester tractor is?

I am considering purchasing one and have examined the model / serial number plate.
It says:
Made in England by
International Harvester of Great Britain Ltd.
Model A4700018000811 *
SerialNo
(note that nothing is listed by the serialno.)

The tractor is all red.
The front wheels are about as wide apart as the rear wheels.
The seller says it is a 1967 model, that it has 38 horsepower, that it is a 4cyl gas engine that it uses a 12 volt alternator.
The seller also says that he replaced the switch (I think the starter switch) and that it said Leeland on it.
The seller thinks it might be a Leeland tractor, although it doesn't say Leeland on the Model/SerialNo plate...

Can anyone tell me which model this tractor is?

I also noted some infomation printed into the metal that was not too far from the serial no plate.
It read:
IH 3044048R
(actually the IH symbol with the I that is stuck through the H.)
Under that it read:
WYF

In another spot in the metal I saw:
7HI (or maybe it was 7H1?)

Can anyone tell me what model tractor this is?
If so, any idea what it is worth??
The owner is asking $2000, I wish I could make sure that it is really worth that much.

He mentioned that it is leaking hydralic fluid a little under the seat.

I sure would appreciate any help or comments, I probably need to decide by Wednesday the 29th, but info before or after would be appreciated.

Please email me: mbryan@onenet.net
