B275 is British built at Doncaster England. They were primarily imported into Canada. There were pockets of these in US as well. They were built from 1956-57 through early to mid 60s. They sold in Canada for less money than a Farmall 130 or 230. They were diesel, live pto and about 30-35 hp. These are a great little diesel tractor, just one problem hard starters, glow plugs at 80 degrees if you only stopped 15 min. to eat lunch. Just about impossible to start in sub 0 weather. You had to buy the Farmall 200 anyway for a pup start. There were no Farmall versions of these. A story I have heard, don't know how true is. There were no oficial dealers for them in US, and thus Canadian and US dealers near border used to trade these for the larger Farmalls. My understanding of this was American dealers wanted a light utility tractor to compete with Massey, Ford, etc. Canadian dealers on other hand needed more large Farmalls than IH were willing to ship. Would like to hear from you guys living close to Canada - US border in 50s and 60s. How accurate is this information?
