Just take out the drain plug. The oil will come out by itsself unless it is very dirty. If none comes out, poke a stick or heavy wire in the hole to break the crud loose so the oil will drain. There is a drain plug on the oil filter but I never use it. The oil drains out if the oil filter nicely unless it is so dirty it is all plugged up. Use a narrow sharpened tool to get the oil filter gasket out if it is hardened and stuck in the groove (a normal condition if the oil has not been changed in some time). Don't gouge the casting. If you don't have a new gasket (it should come with the filter) the old one may work if you do not disturb it. Change the air cleaner oil at the same time. Clean the cup good, but no other cleaning of the air cleaner is necessary. This is also a good time to give the water pump two shots of grease in each zerk and oil the cups on the starter and generator if they have them. Don't do the water pump more than two times per year. Also oil the distributor/magneto drive if there is an oil cup and pull the 1/8 slot pipe plug and screw in a zerk to give the mag/dist a shot of grease. Again twice per year max. And two shot of grease in the pilot bearing.

It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro
