In theory, at least, you can get rid of all the extraneous hydraulic stuff, and just use what was originally available from IH to do the job. Practically, it may not be worth doing, and/or you may not like the results.

The standard hydraulic pump for the 300U (mounted at the distributor) had a capacity of 10GPM (when NEW) and the system was rated for 1200psi, which is pretty low by today's standards. If you are lucky enough to have power steering, subtract some allowance for that, and then figure out how long it will probably take to raise your loader based on the diameter of its cylinders, 231 cubic inches/gallon, and the probable capacity of your pump at this point in its lifetime. IH also offered a front-mounted 16GPM pump for applications requiring more capacity than the standard pump supplied, and using this type of pump may make the most sense if you decide to pursue this.

The standard Hydra-Touch system allowed use of up to three valves, two of which you would need for your loader, with the third remaining for your hitch. All you have to do in this case is hook up hoses the respective cylinders (assuming they're all double-acting), make sure the control valves are set for double-acting, and it should do something, however slowly and/or weakly.

If the extra valve assembly you refer to isn't part of the original IH Hydra-Touch system, things get more complicated. The IH system was a three-port design (supply, return, and control lines are involved) and melding an exterior loop into the original system isn't straightforward. This resulted in the wide variety of strange-looking add-on systems you can see on these tractors, but they were probably the most practical choice at the time they were added, however unlikely that appears today.

Sorry for the long post, but there are a number of issues to consider. Shoot me an email if you want further input.
