You need to remove the steering, light & guage consol first, then the seat and tool box. The seat doesn't have to come off but it makes it easier. With that done and all of the bolts out of the top plate the top is ready to come off. The only thing left holding it on would be casket sealer or rust.

One work of caution. The shifter forks are attached to the top and located to the left of the shifter. These can be bent if you don't keep the top level when you lift it off. Recomend some help or some type of a hoist or lift.

You really need to get a manual before you start to tear into this. The I & T Shop Service manuel IH-8, which you can buy off the sheft at most farm/tractor supply store, will do the job for you.
