Yes, the thermostat is the same whether in the H, Super H, 300, 300U, 350, and 350U as far as I can tell. It may even be the same as the M/400 series. In any case, the thermostat is NOT gold, it is brass :). I have always just gone with the Case IH parts, but if you are up to doing some shopping around, that works too. I have replaced the thermostats in H's and 300U. You do not need a spacer. I would suggest that you also go ahead and replace the water pump to thermostat hose, and the thermostat to radiator hose. It will also be necessary to get a new thermostat to head gasket and thermostat body gasket. The cheap way around this is to make your own gaskets. You can buy the hose at a lot of places other than your Case dealer too.
