706 cylinder head fiasco

recently purchased a 756 gas the 291 in it was junk and went and purchased the 263 from a local ih salvage dealer asked him in the pistons were dome or dish he said dish so thats what we put in with the connecting rods from the 291 now after putting on a different head the 291 head had major cracks and having it completely rebuilt i beleive part of the head casting is 383 but when i set the head on and bolt it on and roll it over to cold set the valves i have a piston hitting a valve,are the 291 connecting rods to long ih offerers a dome and dish piston for the rebuild which cylinder head do i need to accomadate a casting number would be great suggestions or should i just stay on vacation thanks any help would be great Randy
