A B will have axles coming out from both sides of the transmission. An A only has an axle that comes out from the side the seat is mounted on. The drop box on the other side mounts directly to the tranny. A B will also have a different front bolster and steering mechanism due to the narrow front. There are Bs out there floating around with A front ends so it is possible. Serial number with FAB is Farmall B, but perhaps the seat mount could have been changed out with one from an A. Steven
