Putting Tractor Back together...Set Procedure out there?

Last Spring, I busted a 1942 H into little parts and drug it home in my small truck. Now, one Spring later, it lays in a cold shed, waiting for me to come and save it.

Is there a set procedure for re-attaching parts? I need to regasket the tranny cover, put the axles back in, rebolt the bull gears and put it all back from the ground up.

Do I first attach the clutch housing and the engine, and then add the tranny? or do I attach the tranny and the clutch housing, and then pop on the engine? What works the best?

I am going to go through the tranny and wiggle all of the gears. I am not sure what I am looking for but it sounds like fun. I need to put new brake bands on it as well.

Would be nice to hear from some of you red Power jockeys on how you procede the rebuild. I labeled every bolt, nut and washer so I know where everything goes. I just need to know where to start. I do not have hydraulic support so I will be moving the individual parts by the sweat of my hands and the numbness in my head.

Without machinery, how do I get all of the heavy cast iron objects together happily without getting mashed into a small piece of pulp?
