I live in Colorado. If ya want to move here ya better bring yer checkbook. We bought 40 acres 50 miles southeast of Denver 4 years ago, and the land price has increased by 2/3 already. (115K to 180K or 190K.) Not much work away from the Front Range (Pueblo north to Fort Collins), and land prices are ridiculous. Most all the small farm stuff has been bought up by developers. Even in the really rural places (Trinidad, Alamosa, Craig) are having the land prices pushed through the roof by yuppies who want a place in the country. What gets me the most is that they buy 10 or 20 or 40 acres in the country, then put up 500 watt mecury vapor lights and blank out the stars. I 'spose I share some responsibility.
