Does a 240 U have a "woodruff" key like your 140? If so, where is it? Part of the steering shaft to worm gear shaft? Parts books show 240 worm gear fits on a spline shaft. I have the same looseness you described on the 140. Any help would be appreciated by anyone reading this. Jim
