John: As you follow the discussion a couple of days ago about why we "invest" in these old tractors, your testimonial was a good read. I hope you and your brother have a relationship that will accomodate a deal on the B. Like anything old and out of the market, any one tractor on any one day is worth what anyone of us would be willing to pay for it, cash-on-the-barrelhead. Especially since you aim to have it, restore it, and tuck it into bed every night for the next thirty years, the front end purchase value really is arbitrary. If you need a starting place, one rule of thumb is to start now at whatever the ticket price was when the tractor was new. The Farmall B hit the market in 1940 at a whopping $535.
