Read with interest about the M and digging a pond. I have the same questions regarding digging a 1/2 acre pond, but with a IH-240U, with a bucket scoop and scraper blade. My land is in the "blackland prairie", black clay, several feet deep. I inquired about renting a dozer. Costs $325. for 24 hrs. Rental agency said I could dig more, and faster, with a track-loader, if I didn't mind the teeth marks in the dirt. Like many of you, I have more time than money. However, I fear I might make a career of digging a pond with a 240 & scoop. Would appreciate comments. Thanks. Jim
