Haas has the right idea. One time I found the key had sheared on that shaft that goes goes vertically in the steering box. That was a cheap fix. I have rebuilt the steering box and shaft on our 140 to the tune of about $500. That includes a new steering shaft from Case/IH. I found out our tractor had "fast steering" by the parts man. I dont't quite remember the difference except I had to send some parts back because they wouldn't fit. I think it had to do with the number of teeth on a gear or how close the worm was cut on the steering shaft. Now the tractor will go down the road very nicely.
