Live hydraulics on my H - some answers

john d, The pulley is attached to the fan belt pulley with three 5/16 flat socket-head cap screws. There is a spacer ring between them. The fan belt pulley had to be faced to provide a true surface. Bob M, You're right about the potential radial load on the pump input bearing. The Polychain belt will only be 1/2" wide which shouldn't be too stiff or have to run very tight. If a bearing problem develops then I'll go with the pillow block bearings and a coupler. I don't want to add the extra length if it can be avoided. Bruce (WA), The pump output rating is 16 gallons per minute maximum at 3600 rpm. At 1600 rpm intended engine speed and the 1:2 speed increase, the pump will only turn at 3200 rpm. For protection, a 20 gpm return line filter will be added. Higher capacity on the filter is needed when the cylinders of the Saginaw 3-point are on the return stroke.
