I buy all of my bolts from a local bolt supply
house. Most towns should have one They don't always have what I need in square heads but can order them. I had to have them order me 2 boxes of bolts to do the radiator on my Regular. They also carry heavy nuts which is what most of the nuts on thes old tractors are(bigger hex than normal-ie a 3/8" nut with a 5/8 hex). I have also
found that their prices are much lower than anyone else in town-even Lowes. Correct hex bolts are what I have not been able to find. The bolts on these old Farmalls have a taller head with no markings. Some have a dot in the middle. That is really getting fussy though. The #s for the gray
paint are Dupont 27625 or Napa Martin Senour 8711.
These numbers will have a prefix added to them
to indicate what type of paint they are. The complete Napa # for acrylic enamel is 99L-8711.There is some color variation between brands but I have been told over the years that there was some variation from year to year on tractors from the factory. Paint wasn't as sophisticated
back then. I got a fomula for PPG paint from Rice Eq that they said was supposed to be the original
formula that IH used, but when I took it to a PPG
dealer, they said that it wouldn't work and they couldn't mix it. I would suspect that some of the
mixing toners have been discontinued. At any rate,
the #s I gave you are generally accepted as a correct match for IHC gray.

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
