My first tractor was a Cub and I am still operating that tractor. I was 10 and had to sit on the front of the seat so my left leg would push the clutch all the way down. Grandpa would let me drive the Cub all over the farm. I spent that entire summer on the farm driving that tractor. He showed me how to stack loose hay, how to drive up and down hills with a wagon full of hay etc. Lessons I still use to this day, 40 years later. Then when I was 15, I worked for a guy down the road from Grandpa that had JD's and we cut and baled alfalfa all summer. 100# bales made a tough 15/16 year old that year. Worked from 0500 to 1800 hrs each day and loved it. Life was soooooo much simpler then. Oh for another 1960's Oregon summer. Grandma could cook like you couldn't believe. Nobody cared about cholesterol and she lived to be 109 1/2.
