Hello all, I am almost done my generator > delco alternator project. However, when i was testing all my wiring at the ignition switch with the multi-meter, I was registering continuity to the starter solenoid when I had the key in the glow-plug position. This baffled me for a few minutes, but I then determined that 2 of the posts on the solenoid ("starter" & the one to the ignition switch) were both grounded to the block. Why??? Anyone know? When i say grounded, I mean there is continuity between the posts and any metal surface on the tractor. The reason that I have coninuity with the glow-plug circuit is because they are grounded to the block at the last glow plug. Should I have the solenoid checked out/tested? This has always been a positive ground tractor, I want to run it as neg. ground. I hope I have been clear enough. Wendel PS - it is a Lucas solenoid.
