I had the same problem last week when I rewired my Super A. The field in the alternator is feeding voltage back to the coil causing the tractor to keep running. The fix is going to depend on your ign. switch. If it is only a two terminal switch you will have to either change the switch or put a diode in series with the field in the alternator. If you have a switch with an accessory terminal move the wire that goes to the No. 1 terminal on the regulator (left terminal on regulator when viewed from back of alternator) to the ACC terminal. This should fix it. Be sure not to leave the key turned to Acc when tractor is off or you will run the battery down with this method. If you don't have an ACC terminal either get a switch that has one or get two ECG 581 diodes and put them in parallel with each other. To do this place them side by side and turned the same way (one end will have a band on it) then twist the leads together. Then put them inline between the No. 1 terminal and the ign. switch with the band closest to the alternator. They must be turned the right way or your alternator won't charge. If you can't get those diodes then use Radio Shack 276-1661, which is a pack of four, and you'll have to use three of them instead of two to pass enough current.
