There are 4 bearings on each side, as I recall. Two on the axle shaft and two on the differential shaft. Not 100% sure how you can tell which one it is without taking it apart. I replaced them all on mine last year. I suspect the left side takes a little more stress due to where the engine sits. You might want to just order all 4 bearings and do them all at once, as long as you are going to have to take the whole thing apart anyway to figure out what is wrong. While you are at it, as I recall there is an axle seal and a differential shaft seal. If your brake band is at all questionable, this is a good time to do it as well, since it will fall off when you remove the left axle housing anyway. The parts cost for all the above will probably be $150 ish. Dissasembly is not that difficult, but the sucker is real heavy. I removed the axle shaft and gear first, which probably reduced the weight by 100 pounds or so. Two healthy people can remove the left axle housing at this point. Better would be to wrap a webbed strap around it and support it with a chainfall or come-along. Rick
