Forgive me, Harold, as most of these tractors are not "Classics", however I am a member of what everyone calls "Generation X", so these tractors are "Classics" to me, so here I go. 1) 806 Farmall. This tractor gave IH a reputation for building rugged tractors. If I had my choice, I would like an early one with the RD injection pump. 2 856 Farmall. As another post said, these were the best "modern" tractor IH ever made. The were so much more refined than the 806. 3 1468 Farmall. Though these tractors were less than popular to most guys that owned them, there is just something special & unique about those twin exhaust pipes. 4) 5488 AWD. Too bad these tractors never really got the recognition they deserve. I would especially like one of the very last ones with the inline Bosch injection pump & CHROME exhaust pipe. 5 7488 2+2. The last new tractor before the Case-IH merger, too bad time ran out on them, too. Other notables I would like(knew I couldn't limit it to just five) would be: 1) 73-75-7788 4WDs. I think Bermuda Ken Updike knows where all these are. They were the last Steiger/IH joint design in 4 WDs. I think only a couple dozen prototypes were built. 2) H's & M's. No collection is complete without one. 3) IH 4300. IH's first big 4WD that was really many years ahead of its time. Now THAT was a monster. I realize I would need a much bigger storage shed than most of you guys, but it's still fun to dream.
