I think it would be fascinating. Ludwig is right on target with every one of his objections (does of good job of playing Devil's Advocate, doesn't he? ;-) but that's true of most any small business. I'd think you could start small, and then with an independent income, STAY small. I'd concentrate on one or two models of a specific brand, and Cubs and A's are VERY popular. I've got a skeleton that used to be an F14. I paid $100 for it, and have used all the parts I want, and sold other bits for more than I paid for it, still have some sellable bits left. You will eventually wind up with a big pile of unsellable (is that a word?) bits, but that's what they invented scrap iron dealers for. There are LOTS worse ways to spend a weekend than riding around looking for derelict tractors. One word of advice: Buyers expect you to be knowledgeable about the stuff you're selling, another point for keeping a fairly narrow focus. You need to KNOW if such-and-such a widget will fit on a 1946 Cub, or if they changed it at serial number so-and-so...
