If you have 15-20 psi oil pressure when it's hot, you will wear out before it does. I had a super A that was barely above the red at full throttle when it was hot. Used it at least weekly with a Woods mower for 9 years. I've never done this, but I hear one thing to check is the cover on the oil pump (You'd have to remove the oil pan) to make sure it is not warped and letting oil leak. Also, are you sure the gage is good???
