I can beleive it as i have been around the 706 -806 since they were new , as the man i worked for bought the vary first one sold here in Ohio and my uncle bought the second one sold after he ran the first one . My boss had a nick name of NUT's Howard he was the owner of a large construction co. and had more money then one could ever want and if he wanted something he would just buy it he also had one of the nicest farms in the area and he was HORSE POWER Crazy . The tractor that he bought was the disp;ay tractor at the 1963 Canfield Fair and he owned it the day before the fair started and was delivered on laborday evening at 11:30 Pm as the fair closed at 11 and it was on the truck and out the gate at 11:15 and on the farm at 11:30 as i was there . by wenesday evening it had a turbo on it that was installed by General Maintance Diesel and was cranked up from the get go as the 95 hp was not enough . The next saturday a 806 was setting at my uncles and by tuesday evening Wild Bill Dunkel had the turbo on my uncles. , both set at 165 on the pto .Now today with the advacements in turbo tech.and with the better pumps i am guessen that if i put my mind to putting a 806 together today i could pull over 200 and make it live for a good while maybe not the 10000 plus hours that some have gone but as long as a 400 seires lives . Back then we were only able to get 12-13 lbs. of booste as that was all the best charger could do . Now today my Dodge with the hairdryer that it has is running 30-34 lbs and my old 4300 I H eagel ran 68 lbs. And if ya want to realy push it you can get 1 to 1.5 hp per cube or more look at what they are getting out of 359 cubes on a cummins.
