Stan, not likely the bath really had anything to do with it. Check the action of your throttle control rod at the top of the governor housing. If, when you move the throttle, the lever at top of housing is moving back and forth, the linkage is proper and the problem is somewhere else. Remove throttle linkage from lever atop the gov. housing and operate by hand. You should feel a spring fighting you, if you don't, the spring inside the housing is no longer connected. Also check to be sure that the linkage from gov. to carb is freely operating.
