I can't speak for 560 disk brakes. But I've operated/worked on Super H/M disks (which I believe are identical to the 560) for 40+ years.

My experience is IHC disk brakes - when properly maintained and adjusted - work just well a dry disks by the other tractor builders. (And they work better/last longer than most external band and internal drum brakes of the same era...)

A few things that help disks perform well and live long:

- Don't let ANY oil get into them. Bull pinion shaft seals must tight!
- Don't let water get into them either. Rust raises hell with friction surfaces.
- Keep the bull pinion splines clean and LIGHTLY lubricated.
- Replace the friction disks if they become worn, oil-soaked or glazed. And if the cast iron braking surfaces are glazed, sand them clean before installing new disks.
- Keep the actuating (center) disk assembly clean. Replace the balls if they become worn or deformed.
- Keep the pedal linkages properly adjusted. DO NOT let them drag so the brakes overheat!!
- If a pedal return spring breaks replace it IMMEDIATELY. Or at least put a bungee on the pedal to hold it in the released position until you can get a new spring.
