When I did mine, I found that removing the pump body allowed me to put it on a bench and keep things neat. The manual was important. Put the engine on TDC to allow returning it to proper timing. The components come apart logically and should be placed in a sequence for reassembly. Be ultra careful not to use sharp hard tools to pry or scrape on components they will scratch and be ruined.
