Farmall M and W6 main shaft 19 teeth,not same shaft though. Farmall M ring gear 50 teeth, W6 47 teeth. Third gear M 26 and 37 teeth, W6 27 and 36 teeth. As you can see third could be speeded a little with W6 gears but to change you have to go with 3&4 drive gear,2&3 slider and 4th slider from W6 and that will speed 4th up also. I wouldn't be using 4th in a high horsepower M because its the weakest gear. W6 ring and main or pinion shaft will speed all up.
