Thanks for the answers, guys. I sort of thought it must have been a diesel, as there just weren't many (if any) big gas tractors made in those days. The guy sitting in front of me commented that it must be a gas engine since it responded so quickly to the throttle and wound up so fast. Not being familiar with those tractors, I was easy to fool. So much for listening to spectators, eh? The only other one of those I've seen was about 10 years ago in a small town on U.S. 24 in eastern Illinois. Thanks again, Stan
