Bob - please belive me they have changed those pistons so many times I truly believe if you went to Germany where they were designed they would probably be in doubt. If and I do say if it did not smoke with the originals in it. I would personally pull those pistons that you put in and get a set of rings to fit the old ones and reinstall them. You might think that is silly but I will personally gaurantee you I have done it many times as a mechanic in the shop where I worked and never had any problems. Please make sure that you get the right rings as they have to be the originals with the proper bevel and istalled correctly. Feel free to ask me if you have a problem but you will not be told by your IH-Case dealer I'm sure. Upon inspecting the old and new pistons you will find the sneezer opening in the top of the piston is smaller in originals. So you see if you install low sac nozzles you are changing to conform to the other style piston. Well here we go again now if someone else were to put the right pistons back in he will have real problem to figure out. Get it? Good luck.
