My Super M had the same problem and one day as I pulled out of the driveway in road gear with the brush hog on, it turned sharply to the left. I kept it out of the ditch with the brake and limped back to the basement, using the brakes to steer. I pulled the hood & grille to find the pipe plug/cap in the top, front of the bolster which retains the steering worm gear had unscrewed and was laying in front of the radiator. The plug holds the steering shaft in relative position to the gear sector in the bolster. If I had been up to full speed it could have been ugly!
