One more H question

I've got a 1943 H and it has a high range for the trans, is that rare? It goes so fast in 5th gear as it is and when you put it in high range it is scarey, growing up my dad wouldn't let me drive it in high range. I was just curious if they all had that option or if it is a rare thing? Thanks
