Your SC first gear at around 2.4 MPH is too fast for a rototiller. For a tiller, you need no more than 1.5 MPH and in hard ground, 1.0 MPH is better. Don't know about the creeper gear. My parts manual shows a 7.0 MPH third, but no mention of a slow 1st gear.
