When I went out looking for 6v batteries, I found there was a range of amperages. Western Auto had one rated at 535 amps for $39. Auto Value had a 650 amp battery for $75(!!). I bought some third-party brand battery from a local battery dealer for $49.99; it was an 835-amp monster that did fit inside the battery box. I bought it two years ago. Even with a starter that needs rebuilt, it gets the job done! All of the batteries I looked at did fit in the box. Wally World said, "huh?" when I went there to look at 6v batteries.
