Lifting H Engine - Advice?

I'm healed-up well enough from a ruptured disk in my back to be working on the H again. I need to pull the engine and get her boiled (that nondetergent oil is never going back into this engine after I finish the rebuild!). Since this is the first tractor I've ever rebuilt, I don't want to do anything stupid. How should I attach the cherry picker to the engine? Wrap chains around the block? Bolt the evener chains to something? I hope santa brings me that parts washer!
