THERE IS A PICTURE OF AN ELECTRALL LISTED IN THE DICUSSION BOARD, I DON'T RECALL THE LOCATION BUT IT IS SET UP AS A STAND BY POWER PLANT. I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE UNITS SEVERAL YEARS AGO FOR $50.00 AND AFTER CLEANING UP THE SLIP RINGS IT WENT TO WORKING JUST FINE. THE GUY I BOUGHT IT FROM TOLD ME THAT I.H.C. EXPERIMENTED WITH THESE UNITS AND THAT THE ONE I HAVE WAS USED TO RUN A PULL TYPE COMBINE,ELECTRIC MOTORS BEING USED IN PLACE OF BELTS AND CHAINS FOR ALL THE VARIOUS FUNCTIONS. ( I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS IS TRUE OR NOT BUT THE MAN WAS SINCERE SO I HAVE NO REASON TO DOUBT HIM.) THE UNIT I HAVE HAS 115/VOLT AND 230/VOLT SINGLE PHASE, AND ALSO A 208/VOLT THREE PHASE OUTLET. THREE PHASE BEING BETTER TO RUN MOTORS WITH BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE POWER FOR THEIR SIZE AND DON'T OVER HEAT AS OUICK. I HAVE USED THIS ONE TO RUN A LINCOLN WELDER WITH AND IT SEEMED TO HANDLED IT NO PROBLEM. SINCE ALL I GOT WAS THE ALTERNATOR I DON'T KNOW IF IT HAD SOME SEPERATE CONTROLS FOR FINE TUNING VOLTAGE AND THE CYCLES OR NOT. IT IS RUN BY V-PULLEY AN HAS WHAT I SUPPOSE IS A EXCITER GENERATOR (DELCO) TO CHARGE THE COILS OR AS A FIELD FLASH. THIS SMALL GEN. IS RAN OFF THE MAIN SHAFT VIA NARROW GAUGE V-BELT ALSO. HOPE TO RUN ACROSS A MANUAL SOME DAY.
