Thanks there
This swap was for one of my brothers tractor and he was the one who pushed to change this tractor to a diesel. We all work at day jobs but still do some farming along with some custom notill planting and combining.

My main job is repairs, welding and general fixing.I'm also the youngest brother, getting all the tougher jobs around home.I also enjoy this type of work.We run an older line of IH equipment so we've done lots of repairs and over hauling over the years.

Anyway the 756 gas was in need of another overhaul. It was getting to be just a yard unit with the 2250bucket always mounted on it.But my brother said he'd spend no more money on a gas engine. Instead he had stoped at a wrecking yard one day when they were starting to take a 715 combine apart. So he asked to hear it run.To him it sounded just as good as the 826 we have with a D358 german diesel that by now has 9/10000 hrs on it.

So he made the deal with them on the engine swap and related parts needed for this conversion
$3000 canadian.
But he brings the engine and parts home and its my job is make this fit and work.I was worried because others had said it could not be done. This always lookes harder when the parts are still sitting in the back of a pick-up box and a fellow has no idea what he's up against.

But my brother sayes don't worry if it doesn't fit the wrecking yard would take the engine back And buy the tractor off us if we wanted. But he said give it a try.Or we could ovehaul the gas that had always been a pig on fuel and the last thing we wanted to do.
Like i said in the last post it was a good education. But if i did it again it would be a new cummins engine for the amount of work involved.

I have one of the 1066 apart right now for some engine work. But started measuring and drawing up the flywheel and engine mounts. Maybe some day update one of these unit to a new cummins. Its no unthinkable.

Thanks again there. You and your family have a good Holidays.
