1953 Super-M

I recently purchased a 1953 Super-M with an IH 1701 loader, mowing deck and log splitter for $1800. The engine runs well. I don't have an owner's manual yet so I'm trying to discover what I need to check out and what some of the mysterous disconnected levers are for. For instance, below the pully on the lower right side of the transmission is a lever with two holes in it. It's about a foot long. It's movement is restricted by the framework of the 1701 loader. It's not the engagement lever for the pully, because that's on the top of the transmission. Another question I have is where to check the level of oil in the tranmision. On the middle left side are two elbows and on the right side is what looks like a filling port on the top and another elbow fitting in the middle of the right side. I read the article on restoring the "H". He filled the transmission with 85W145 instead of 90W. Isn't that too heavy? The steering is a bit loose. I read in the service manual I got with the tractor that the steering gear box is not adjustable, but a bushing can be replaced to take out the slack. Is that correct? The steering wheel is cracked and most of the plastic is broken away. I looked on this site, but couldn't find a listing for a replacement steering wheel. Does any one have a source for a good replacement steering wheel? Thanks for all your help.
