5th gear would be the same in both , direct , unless the Super M had a different rear end ratio , don't think so though . Super's 4th was about 6-7 mph , M's 4th was about 5mph , Supers 3rd was like M's 4th somewhere around 5mph . Supers 2nd was a little slower than M's 3rd . We never had a Super M but had a 400D for a while and they were geared close to a Super M . We had a M then, and still do , the old M which was worked over some would out do the 400 on the same plow because when plowing with the 400 in 3rd , when you pulled the torque in 3rd it was slower than the M when you dropped to 3rd . The old M has the M&W 9 speed trans in it sure made it a handy tractor back in those days . JIM
